Managing Side-effects

Parkway Cancer Centre believes that cancer care goes beyond medical treatment. Patients and their family can find comfort, support and reassurance through the group’s customized unit. Available at no cost to patients, the unit offers assistance in dealing with emotional and social health issues as well.

Side effects from cancer treatment may affect nutrition. Our clinical dieticians are available to consult with patients and work on diet plans to ensure that patients receive proper nutrition, which leads to faster recovery.

Care and support continue even after the patient goes home. A multidisciplinary team, that includes a physiotherapist, occupational therapist, speech therapist and homecare nurse, will work with patients to develop customized rehabilitation programmes and proper homecare. While patients are encouraged to take on an active role in managing their own health, family members and caregivers can learn techniques in assisting them at home.
